The road distance of 540kms from Hyderabad to Madanapalli is covered in 11 hours by a bus. I decided to visit Madanapalli by bus, as this is one of the cost effective ways of travelling. I quickly booked online bus tickets from redbus and chose to journey on a multi axle Ac semi sleeper bus.

The bus reservation portal lowered by hassles largely. It allowed me to select my seat next to the window via online and bus type too. Furthermore, they guarantee the strict principles of travel help, agreeable support of its travellers. The bus came with clean and comfortable interiors, and the staff was polite too. They provided water bottles and there was a TV installed in the bus that played songs or movies. I boarded the bus from Miyapur at 8:30pm and reached Madanapalli at 5:30am the next day. The travel went on for 10 hours with some rest stops given by the bus transport was an enduring experience. The bus passed through varied territories, lush greenery and long stretched of highways.

Madanapalli is a small town poised in Chittor district of the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. Apart from its interesting folklore, this town is emerging as an important centre for agricultural practices. I was visiting Madanapalli just to view one of its popular tourist destination known as the Horsley Hills. My whole idea of spending a 2 days trip to this place from Hyderabad was to fulfil my shopping desires and see the hill stations. I have heard that Madanapalli is famous for its high quality of silk. It was only during the end of the 19th century that people started referring to it as Madanapalli. It is said that this place has one of the highest revenue divisions of the country and it is so high that it can cover almost one half of the entire Chittor district. The town is not known to a lot of tourists but is now seeing steady growth in the number of tourists visiting every year. It is quite well known in the country for serving as the centre for agricultural activities and growing good quality vegetables and fruits. It is one of the most preferred places for cultivation of tomato and is also known to serve it as a delicacy. When you are in Madanapalli make sure to visit Horsley hills which serves as the go to summer destination for the locals here!! The town has a historical significance since it is believed that the Indian National Anthem was translated from Bengali to English here!!
